Obama Makes Statement On Economy, Overcomes Microphone Malfunction
President Obama spoke on the White House lawn today to seek bipartisan support for a new small business stimulus bill that is currently opposed by GOP legislators. The President expressed confidence in the American people and the economy, but appeared to acknowledge the realities of the political climate in which he currently finds himself by not listing a number expensive ideas to spur the economy simply because he couldn’t get them through congress right now. As the President began to speak to the White House Press Corps, he appeared to have a false-start, given some sound issues with his microphone: not great optics for an otherwise embattled administration.
By many indications, the economy seems to be worsening, and the White House believes this small business lending bill, while no “cure all” will help the stagnant economy. View the Presidents statement in the video clip below.
