Ohio Prosecutors Release Video of Police Officer Shooting Sam DuBose
Ohio prosecutors held a press conference Wednesday to release the body-cam video of the shooting death of African-American man Sam DuBose at the hands of a University of Cincinnati police officer.
What was an ordinary traffic over a missing license plate became confrontational when DuBose failed to produce a driver’s license. When the officer Ray Tensing asked DuBose to take off his seat-belt, a struggle ensues, and Tensing pulls out his weapon and shoots DuBose in the head.
At the same press conference, Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters announced that Tensing would be charged with murder, and was being arrested as they spoke. Tensing had maintained that DuBose was dragging him by the car, a claim completely disproved by the video.
