Oops! Trump Goes On Rant Blasting San Diego’s Mayor for Tipping Off ICE Raids (It Was Oakland’s Mayor)

At an event on Friday focused on immigration policy, President Donald Trump went on a rant blasting the Mayor of San Diego for tipping off immigrants to an ICE raid.

Where is the media outrage over the catch-and-release policies that allowed deadly drugs to pour into our country? Where is the condemnation of the Democrats’ sanctuary cities that release violent criminals into our communities and then protect them? Like the Mayor of San Diego when she warned everybody that ICE is coming, and they scattered. A big operation, or expensive operation. They were all together. They all scattered. And what are they going to do about looking at her, by the way? I’ve been asking this question now for four weeks. She can do that?

One slight problem… it was actually the Mayor of Oakland, not San Diego.

Yes, it was Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf (D) who gave advance warning about the raids. San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer is actually a Republican.

Multiple reporters promptly spotted the error:

He's talking about the mayor of Oakland. The mayor of San Diego is a Republican man.
