Vice President Mike Pence is following President Trump‘s example by taking shots at professional athletes who kneel before the National Anthem.
Trump began his feud with the sports world in the middle of his appearance this past weekend at a rally to support Luther Strange‘s run for Senator of Alabama. Pence is campaigning on Strange’s behalf tonight, and he kept the Administration’s stance going by declaring that “I stand with President Donald Trump, and I will always stand for our national anthem.”
Pence continued to say that even though people have a right to their political views, it’s not too much to ask for respect to the country and America’s military forces.
“Patriotism is what unites us,” said Pence. “It’s about respect for the flag, it’s about respect for the country.”
Earlier tonight, the Dallas Cowboys became the latest footballers to take a knee on the field and make a political message.
