Poll: African-Americans Have Higher Opinions of Bedbugs and Airplane Middle Seats Than Trump

Although the findings of the newest Public Policy Polling poll won’t be released until later today, Rachel Maddow debuted some rather startling numbers last night on her program.

In a poll taken August 26-August 28 with a margin of error of +/-3.3, African-Americans were asked about their opinion of Republican party nominee Donald Trump in direct comparison to a number of controversial or presumably low opinion topics. The list included Ryan Lochte, bedbugs, the bubonic plague, Duke University, and middle seats on airplanes.

Care to see how disastrously Donald Trump stacked up against those ills of the world?

Trump’s closest competitor was bedbugs in the poll, which comes out as the GOP nominee is making as strong an effort as ever to court the black vote throughout the United States.

The real estate mogul turned politician recently touted that if elected, he would earn upwards of 95% of the African-American vote during his 2020 reelection bid. He previously championed himself as the ideal candidate for the black community, triumphantly asking, “What do you have to lose? You’re living in poverty; your schools are no good. You have no jobs; 58 percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?”

The PPP poll regarding overall favorables — sans comparisons to things like airplane middle seats — spells even worse troubles for the nominee:

So yeah, what the hell do you have to lose, I guess?
