Prostitute Accused of Murdering Silicon Valley Exec Aboard His Yacht
A prostitute was charged this week in the overdose death of a Silicon Valley executive, after surveillance video showed her packing her things and even drinking wine as he died.
According to authorities, former Google executive Forrest Hayes had brought Alix Tichelman, a high-priced prostitute, aboard his yacht last fall when she gave him a lethal overdose of heroin. His body was discovered the next day by the boat’s captain.
The boat’s surveillance video shows Hayes losing consciousness while Tichelman gathers her things and even polishes off a glass of wine before leaving the boat. Police eventually obtained a court order for the video, which was stored on a cloud server; from there they identified Tichelman and lured her back into Santa Cruz through a prostitution sting.
Police believe the dose was sufficient that it could not have been accidental. She was charged with seven crimes, including second degree murder, and her bail was set at $1.5 million.
According to authorities, Hayes had met Tichelman through SeekingArrangements.com, a sugar daddy website, and had paid her for sex several times.
“So cold and callous was she that she stepped over the victim’s body several times, one time to retrieve a glass of wine and finish the contents of the glass of wine while she’s cleaning up her property, cleaning up evidence of the crime there,” a Santa Cruz spokesperson said.
