Rachel Maddow Buys Michael Stipe’s NYC Apt. (PHOTOS)

According to the New York real estate website Curbed, Rachel Maddow and her partner have bought a new New York apartment from none other than REM’s Michael Stipe. Located on Jane St. in the West Village they snagged the “two combined units” for $1.25 million, less than the $1.325 million asking price.

It may not have the over-the-top gold-plated grandeur of the place Rush Limbaugh was trying to vacate earlier this year, but judging by the pictures (below) it’s pretty alright.
