Report: Panthers and NFL are Considering Moving Sunday’s Game Because of Charlotte Protests (UPDATE)
The Carolina Panthers — set to play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte — are reportedly considering moving the game due to the Charlotte protests.

In a statement, Panthers president Danny Morrison said that the club was “monitoring events” in advance of the game.
“We are in contact with government officials, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the NFL,” Morrison said. We are continuing to monitor events as we prepare for Sunday’s home game.”
NFL games are very rarely moved from their original sites. The last NFL game to be moved out of city was in 2014, when a Bills-Jets match-up originally ticketed for Buffalo was moved to Detroit due to a snowstorm in upstate New York. Prior to that, Hurricane Katrina forced the New Orleans Saints to relocate for the entire 2005 season, which included moving their season opener against the Giants to New Jersey.
UPDATE 2:05 p.m. ET – The NFL has just announced, in a statement, that they are “planning to play the game as scheduled.
