Report: Trump Surrogate Boris Epshteyn Is Stepping Down From White House Role

Reports are indicating that Boris Epshteyn is about to step down from his position as a media surrogate and communications director for President Trump.
Epshteyn was a frequent stand-in for Trump throughout the 2016 election, and has continued to defend the president as a member of the new administration. However, White House officials have told Politico that “we are exploring opportunities within the administration,” and Epshteyn will be withdrawing from his high-profile position.
Epshteyn is known for having a boisterous TV persona that has been described as “combative” by the media on occasions. He once pled guilty to assaulting a man at an Arizona bar, and Politico described how the Trump surrogate was known for generating friction between the campaign and media staff.
