Reports: Jim Webb to Drop Out of Democratic Presidential Race
Democratic presidential nominee Jim Webb plans to drop out of the Democratic race Tuesday, reports Politico and Fox News.
In an email Monday, Webb floated the idea that he might run as an Independent. Webb is expected to hold a press conference later in the afternoon announcing what his future plans are — if any — for the remainder of the 2016 race.
The former Virginia Senator and decorated soldier never really registered in the Democratic primary polls, and spent much of his allotted time in the first presidential debate complaining about his lack of time. He did gain brief notice during the debate, however, for smiling and joking about having killed an enemy soldier in Vietnam.
