Richard Sherman Showed up to a Press Conference in Full Harry Potter Garb
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is on-the-record as being a big fan of the Harry Potter books and films. His superfan status is now beyond question, following his entrance to a news conference this week wearing full Harry Potter garb.
Sherman wore a black robe and Potter’s signature red tie. And, of course, the glasses. He wore the glasses too.
“This is a serious occasion,” Sherman said. “It’s Halloween. My son told me he wanted me to wear something. So it’s happening.”

Sherman did more than just look the part, though. The method actor was totally committed to the part. He stayed in character and answered questions as a wizard. At one point, he was asked which was tougher: a game of quidditch or five quarters of football. (The Seahawks played a full period of overtime last week against Arizona.)
“Five quarters of football is pretty tough, but Quidditch — the beaters, the chasers, trying to find the golden snitch, things like that — that’s tough,” he said. “Five quarters of football, though, in the elements, I’d say that’d take the cake.”
