Sarah Sanders Hits Chris Cuomo For Referring to WH Spox as ‘Raj Whatever His Name is’

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders hit CNN New Day anchor Chris Cuomo on Twitter Monday for referring to Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah as “Raj whatever his name is.”

Cuomo made the remark at 7:11 a.m. ET Monday morning on New Day during a discussion about President Donald Trump‘s reported “shithole” comment. The CNN anchor reported that Shah did not deny Trump made the remark.

“[W]e went to the White House when it happened,” Cuomo said. “Raj whatever his name is didn’t back off the words.”

Shah acknowledged the incident by Tweeting about it with a link to a Daily Caller story.

And then Sanders followed up on Shah’s tweet with one of her own — making reference to a previous incident in which CNN posted the wrong picture of Shah during a December broadcast. She also added the presumably tongue-in-cheek hashtag #ThisIsCNN.

Although the “whatever his name is” line appears to have been a one-time incident, Cuomo has neglected to mention Shah’s last name on several other occasions. At 8:48 a.m. ET on Monday, Cuomo referred to Shah simply as Raj. And he did the same thing, according to the media monitoring service TVEyes, during an interview with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski this past Friday.
