‘Semper Latte’: GOP Now Fundraising off Obama Coffee Salute Video

The laws of political fundraising dictate that every time a politician does something embarrassing — or heck, every time a politician does something — his or her opponents must therefore beat that incident to death in order to make money.

Lo and behold: Barack Obama saluted the Marines while holding a latte! Ka-ching.

Over at SemperLatte.com, anyone who is outraged by Obama’s multitasking can sign up for the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s emailing list, and express their displeasure by donating various sums of money to an assortment of GOP candidates running in the upcoming midterms.

“Our Commander-in-Chief should take the time to properly salute our nation’s heroes in uniform,” the page says, and then politely asks for your home and email address.

It is unclear how much the Semper Latte incident could raise, but it’ll have to compete with the $2.1 million the Democrats raised after Sarah Palin called for Obama’s impeachment.
