Jersey Shore Star ‘The Situation’ Indicted for Tax Fraud

The Situation, who you probably haven’t heard about in years because thank God that show is no longer on the air, has been indicted for tax crimes. Mike Sorrentino and his brother Marc were arrested today and charged with committing tax fraud.

According to prosecutors, the Situation brother neglected to pay taxes on $8.9 million in income Sorrentino earned. In addition, they’re charged with conspiracy to defraud the U.S. and filing false tax returns for three years.

One U.S. attorney said, “The brothers allegedly also claimed costly clothes and cars as business expenses and funneled company money into personal accounts. The law is absolutely clear: telling the truth to the IRS is not optional.”

The Sorrentino brothers are looking at three years in jail and a $250,000 fine at maximum. Marc Sorrentino also faces an additional year in prison and another fine if found guilty of a separate charge on failing to file his income tax return in 2011.

So how’s this for a situation?
