Shaq and Charles Barkley Renew Feud, Trade Barbs: When Shaq’s 50, He’s ‘Gonna Be as Big as This House’
We like to keep tabs on the kidding-but-not-kidding, sort of, sometimes feud between TNT colleagues Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley. Shaq has called Sir Charles a “balder, fatter Matt Damon,” and threatened to punch him in his face. Barkley has called Shaq a “fat ass,” and poked fun at O’Neal’s acting and music endeavors.
As part of a profile of Shaq for this month’s edition of Real Sports, set to air Tuesday night on HBO, the retired NBA greats renewed their rivalry by poking fun at each other’s size.
In an portion of the segment not included in the teaser clip above, HBO’s Bernard Goldberg asked Shaq about the number of Krispy Kreme doughnuts he eats in one sitting. (Shaq just purchased a Krispy Kreme franchise in Atlanta.)
“Two dozen,” Shaq told Goldberg. “As long as I don’t look like Charles Barkley, I’m good.”
Sir Charles fired back at the 46-year-old basketball Hall of Famer.
“If you listen to him, you would think he was skinny,” Barkley said. “And people forget, he’s still a youngster. When he gets 50, he gonna be big as this room.”
