Shia LaBeouf Opens up About… His Missy Elliott Tattoos?
Far be it for us to dictate what an outlet should use as their lead on any given story, but Variety really buried this gem of information in their profile of actor Shia LaBeouf: The dude has matching portraits of rapper Missy Elliott inked on his kneecaps.
In a piece called “How Shia LaBeouf Stopped Drinking and Found the Career He Wanted,” readers can find lots of information about the artist’s involvement in the new Andrea Arnold flick American Honey, but none of the info rivals the talk of the Elliott tats, which he explains like this:
I don’t love Missy Elliott like I wanna get two Missy Elliott tattoos, but you’re in a tattoo parlor, and… peer pressure.
He explained that he and the people he worked on American Honey with would bond by getting tattoos, so now he has 12 new ones, including the portraits of Elliott.
The profile also revealed that for his role in the acclaimed movie, which hits theaters this week, he never had a script. Arnold just gave him some dialogue every morning and let him do his thing.
