‘So Disgusting’: Eric Trump Ranted at WaPo for Asking About His Dad’s Charity Donations

donald eric trumpEric Trump spoke with The Washington Post after multiple inquiries into his father’s charitable donations, and he reportedly ended up ranting against them.

Post reporter David Farenthold has been investigating Trump’s charitable giving for weeks now, attempting to get a full picture of who Trump gave to and how much. His investigation led him to the Eric Trump Foundation and this revelation:

Farenthold chronicled today just how long it took to finally get the younger Trump to respond to their many inquiries. This is what happened next:

On Wednesday, he called The Post. He denounced its reporting — often in forceful, profane terms. “I’m just saying, Jesus Christ, why is this guy trying to f***ing kill us?” Eric Trump said at one point…

Eric Trump also criticized The Post for a recent blog post — and recent Twitter messages by this reporter — about a payment made by the Eric Trump Foundation to one of Donald Trump’s golf courses.

“It’s disgusting. It is so disgusting what’s happening,” Eric Trump said. “I’m saving dying children. We do tremendous good for people. And you’re sitting there tearing us apart.

Trump insisted his father is plenty charitable and has given “millions and millions” away, though he didn’t give any specifics.

“My father,” he said, “likes to keep some anonymity. It’s who he is. It’s who he is as a person.”

Previous investigations have raised questions about Trump’s overall charitable giving. And we should note that amid that controversy over his donations to vets’ groups, Trump sent out checks to a bunch of them after none other than The Washington Post ran a critical story about it.

Trump, of course, recently revoked WaPo‘s credentials to his events.
