So You Wanna Be in The Sartorialist Pictures?

Forget moving to New York to find fame and fortune model and/or actress! The true measure of beauty and style (if not personal fortune) these last few years has been clocking an appearance on The Sartorialist.

Scott Schuman‘s street fashion blog has gone from cult obsession to mainstream force. At first glance it appears that Shuman randomly wanders the streets of the world snapping the fashionistas, homespun or otherwise, who cross his path. But close watchers of that space already know gravitates towards a certain type (Giovanna Battaglia!), certain neighborhoods (West of 7th Ave is usually a good bet), and great light!

For those of you looking for the fashion limelight the sharps folks at Refinery29 have put together a road map of sorts. You’ll have to click through to get the full picture. But the short version for those out there not “model pretty” boils down to this: Pile on the jewelry, wear some scarves, and/or ride a bike whilst smoking a cigarette. Living in the West Village doesn’t hurt either.
