Steelers Kicker Questions His Selection for ‘Random’ NFL Drug Test After Game in Which He Made Six Field Goals

Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell had a pretty great game this past Sunday against Cincinnati. He made six field goals overall, five of them from more than 40 yards out. Three days later, Boswell was “randomly selected” to participate in an NFL-mandated drug test.
Boswell seems to think the two events are not unrelated.
The kicker tweeted out a picture of the drug test notice on his locker, with the word random in quotes and a pair which seemed to show his skepticism.

Boswell is not the first player to claim that random NFL drug tests aren’t really random. Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee has tweeted out his drug test notices on several occasions — noting that he was summoned on one occasion after hitting a booming 67-yard punt in a game, and another time after making a particularly hard tackle.
