Steve King Blasts Trump Over Wall Setbacks: Wall Has Gone From ‘Rolls-Royce’ to ‘Overhauled Jalopy’
Rep. Steve King (R-IA) began his Thursday by appearing on New Day to vent his frustration with President Donald Trump over his deal with Democrats on DACA. He ended it by lamenting the progress — or lack thereof — on Trump’s “big, beautiful” southern border wall.
“We were going to have the Rolls-Royce of a big, beautiful wall,” King said. But instead, King said “the Rolls-Royce is going to be an overhauled jalopy.”
The conservative Congressman added that if Trump were to go back on his promise and not build a wall, it might have an impact not only on his potential reelection campaign, but also on how every political campaign promise is viewed going forward.
“I don’t know that any candidate could run for president again and make a promise and expect the people to accept that promise at face value,” King said — sounding kind of like someone getting ready to pack his Spotify playlist with breakup anthems.
