Susan Collins on Graham-Cassidy: ‘Difficult For Me to Envision a Scenario’ Where I Vote For It
Last week, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) essentially put a knife in the heart of the GOP’s attempt to repeal Obamacare by coming out against their latest replacement bill, Graham-Cassidy. The reason why McCain’s statement was a death knell is due to Sen. Rand Paul’s absolute no on the bill and the assumption that Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) will also vote nay.
During an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union this morning, Collins wouldn’t give a definite no when asked by host Jake Tapper if she would support the bill, but she let it be known that it would be a huge shocker if she did vote for it.
“Jake, it’s very difficult for me to envision a scenario where I would end up voting for this bill,” she stated. “I have a number of serious reservations about it.”
She went on to say that she’s waiting on the analysis from the Congressional Budget Office before she announces her definitive decision.
