Suspect Named In Houston College Campus Stabbing Spree

As many as 15 people have been injured in a mass stabbing today on Houston’s Lone Star College Cy-Fair campus after a lone man allegedly ran throughout the school randomly slashing at students with an X-Acto precision knife. That suspect was tackled by a student, and is now currently in police custody.

The perpetrator has been identified as 20-year-old Dylan Quick. He has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Harris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Just after 11 a.m. CT, the local sheriff’s deputies responded to 911 calls alerting officials to a suspect with a knife on campus. The length of the man’s stabbing spree is unknown, but three students — identified as Steven Maida, Erik Bertrand, and “James” — reportedly assisted in taking the stabber down and wrestling him to the ground. At least 12 people have been rushed to a hospital, with four by helicopter, two of whom are reportedly in critical condition.

During the noon hour, Instagram user cheesin365 posted a photograph he claims shows the perpetrator after having been tackled to the ground by the photographer:

The image included the caption: “Fuck this mothafucker stabbed 5 people.2 girls in the cheek. Everyone ran the other way I said fuck that. Me and this kid got em #lonestarstabbing #fuckthiskid #copsaretooslow”

Before his identification was released, all that was known about the suspect is that he was enrolled at the Lone Star College campus where the incident occurred.
