Tapper Cuts Off Stephen Miller, Ends Interview For Wasting ‘Enough of My Viewers’ Time’
At the end of an extremely tense and heated interview with White House senior policy advisor Stephen Miller, CNN anchor Jake Tapper seemingly had enough and decided to end the segment.
After having gone back and forth with the Trump aide for more than a few minutes, Tapper told Miller that he was trying to get to the question of the president’s fitness for office. Miller shot back that he was “getting to the issue of your fitness,” adding that Trump is a “self-made billionaire” who is speaking for the “people that you don’t connect with.”
This was followed by Miller claiming that he was booked to talk about other issues but Tapper wasn’t asking about them because “they’re not interesting facts to you.”
“I have plenty of questions on immigration — you’ve attempted to filibuster by talking about your flights with the president,” the State of the Union host responded.
“Don’t be condescending, Jake,” Miller shot back.
Miller went on to state that he talked about his experiences with Trump because he’s seen the incredible work that the president has done, leading Tapper to note that he wasn’t answering any questions. After Miller continued to complain about CNN’s coverage of Trump, Tapper said they were done.
“I get it — there is one viewer that you care about right now and you’re being obsequious, you’re being a factotum in order to please him,” Tapper stated. “And I think I’ve wasted enough of my viewers’ time. Thank you.”
As Miller continued to rattle on, Tapper provided details of upcoming segments before heading to commercial break.
