Teen Allegedly Killed a Classmate, Took Selfie with the Dead Body
A 16-year-old boy is in custody after he admitted to fatally shooting a classmate in the face and taking a selfie with the dead body. Police in Jeannette, Pennsylvania say Maxwell Morton also posted the picture on Snapchat, which was used to charge Morton with the murder of Ryan Mangan.
Mangan was found dead in his home on Wednesday. According to WTAE, an unidentified woman told police her son received the photo on Snapchat, and that he also received text messages from Morton reading, “Told you I cleaned up the shells,” and “Ryan was not the last one.” Police said the Snapchat selfie had the name “Maxwell” across the top of it.
Morton confessed to the crime after a police search of his home yielded a 9 mm handgun and bullets that matched those found at the crime scene. He will be tried in court as an adult.
