That Time Carrie Fisher Sent a Cow Tongue to Producer Who Sexually Harassed Her Friend

As Harvey Weinstein‘s sexual harassment controversy continues to rock Hollywood, the scandal has caused an old story about Carrie Fisher to enter the spotlight.

Screenwriter Heather Ross, who was friends with the late actress, recently gave a radio interview where she talked about how she was sexually abused once by an unnamed film producer. Ross said she met the producer in his car to discuss a project years ago, and she had to force him off herself after he climbed over and pinned her to her seat.

Ross was able to get away, but she recounted how the producer told her, “You’ll never make a movie in my town and get the F out of my car.”

After Fisher learned about what happened, the Star Wars icon got revenge on Ross’ behalf by sending the producer a gross surprise:

“About two weeks later, she sent me a message online and said, ‘I just saw [blank] at Sony Studios. I knew he would probably be there, so I went to his office and personally delivered a Tiffany box wrapped with a white bow.’ I asked her what was inside and she said, ‘It was a cow tongue from Jerry’s Famous Deli in Westwood with a note that said, if you ever touch my darling Heather or any other woman again, the next delivery will be something of yours in a much smaller box!'”

Ross said Fisher’s actions were a huge relief for her, and that it was “validating” to know that Princess Leia wasn’t “just a fake Hollywood friend.”
