‘That Will be Up to Him’: Priebus Gives Vague Answer On Whether Trump Will Reverse Russian Sanctions
This evening, RNC Chairman and incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus appeared on Fox News to discuss the recent news surrounding President Obama’s sanctions against Russia and President-elect Donald Trump’s statement in response.
Speaking to host Eric Bolling, filling in for Bill O’Reilly on The O’Reilly Factor, Priebus stated that while Trump definitely didn’t support any foreign governments interfering in the election, he wants to get all of the actual information and not just what’s been reported in the media when it comes to hacking.
When asked if the President-elect would think about calling up Russian President Vladimir Putin, Priebus explained that Trump believes in the idea of one president at a time and won’t jump ahead. However, this also turned into a conversation about Israel and the recent United Nations resolution that the United States abstained on.
Ending the conversation, Bolling asked the chairman if Trump would reverse the sanctions Obama just imposed. Priebus was vague in his response.
“That’s going to be up to him and he is going to sit down and talk to his leadership at the Defense Department and State and in the White House and make those decisions, Eric,” he answered.
