The Killers Want Free Orange Chicken for Life After Panda Express Used One of Their Lyrics…
Sunday, The Killers noticed something going on at Panda Express: Inside at least one of their fortune cookies is a lyric of theirs, “Smile like you mean it.”
I’m thinkin’ orange chicken for life and we’ll let you off the hook for using our stuff. pic.twitter.com/3gJ9FebZVD

The band Tweeted the lyrics and offered to allow the chain to continue using their words…in exchange for free orange chicken for life. Sounds pretty reasonable to us. Panda Express responded, although they didn’t really address the band’s offer.
.@thekillers When it comes to #OrangeChickenLove, we always mean it.

Others took it way, way too seriously:
@thekillers never heard of you… I’ve used “smile like you mean it” since before you all were born. Get over yourselves!

@thekillers You should be more concerned about writing cliché “stuff.”

@thekillers Do you really think you were the first people in the history of the English language to say this? Besides, Panda Express sucks.

Either way, apparently this is nothing new. Comedy Central show @Midnight responded, saying that Panda Express actually uses song lyrics lyrics pretty much all the time:
