‘This is Silly’: Sean Spicer Engages in Testy Exchange With Reporter Over Trump’s Tweets
During today’s White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer got into a bit of a heated exchange with a number of reporters over President Donald Trump’s tweets about a federal judge and how they may or may not have been construed by his Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.
Following a number of questions lobbed at him on that topic, Spicer was then confronted about Trump tweeting about Nordstrom not carrying his daughter’s fashion brand anymore but not using that platform to offer condolences on the Quebec mosque attack.
“You just brought that up,” Spicer responded. “I literally stand at this podium and opened a briefing a couple of days ago about the president and his condolences. I literally opened the briefing about it.”
With the reporter, SiriusXM’s Jared Rizzi, shooting back that POTUS isn’t tweeting about this, though, a frustrated Spicer seemed beside himself.
“You’re equating me addressing the nation with a tweet,” he exclaimed. “That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard.”
Moving onto the next question, he further added, “This is silly.”
