Top Italian Court Has Overturned Amanda Knox’s Murder Conviction

Italy’s top court has officially overturned Amanda Knox‘s conviction for murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007.

Knox was found guilty in 2009, but appealed the decision and was released in 2011. But two years later, a court overturned her acquittal and ordered another trial.

She was found guilty again and said at the time she would not willingly return to Italy. But today, in a final ruling after years of back-and-forths, Knox and her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito had their murder convictions officially overturned.
