Trump Camp Cancels Interview Once They Catch Reporter Speaking Spanish

trumpThe Trump campaign abruptly cancelled an interview with a freelance journalist after he was heard speaking Spanish, according to a report in Buzzfeed.

The reporter, Marcos Stupenengo, who hails from Argentina, had come to Trump Tower on Monday for a pre-approved interview on behalf of TV Azteca.

Buzzfeed’s Adrian Carrasquillo writes:

But as he waited to conduct the interview, Stupenengo received a call, and began speaking in Spanish. That’s when the Trump campaign informed him they had no interest in taking part in an interview with him, according to a source with knowledge of the incident.

Reached for comment, Stupenengo forwarded the request to the network. “I can say that after 13 years of journalism worse things have happened to me,” he wrote in an email, declining to comment further.

The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Buzzfeed reports further that Stupenego will “say he was kicked out of Trump headquarters because he was speaking Spanish” in his report, which will air Monday evening.

In August of last year, Trump kicked Univision’s Jorge Ramos out of a press conference.
