Trump Claims He Rejected Interview, Photoshoot for Time’s Person of the Year Issue: ‘Thanks Anyway!’
President Trump claimed on Twitter earlier tonight that he rejected an interview and photo shoot from Time Magazine for their TIME‘s Person of the Year issue.
The President was named Person of the Year last year, and he said on Twitter the magazine contacted him about “probably” getting it this year.
But, as he claims, “I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot.”
And Trump concluded the tweet by saying he rejected the photo shoot:
Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

Back in 2015, when the honor went to Angela Merkel instead, then-candidate Trump tweeted this:
I told you @TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite They picked person who is ruining Germany

Twitter got a little snarky tonight with this presidential tweet:
As you read this tweet, keep in mind how much Trump truly values TIME magazine. Fake TIME covers were framed and on the wall of his golf courses, as @Fahrenthold uncovered. https://t.co/7hvV7OsjgD https://t.co/9Vh9VA7bVv

It appears that President Trump has seen the reports that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman looks set to beat POTUS, mayor of San Juan, Taylor Swift, Vladimir Putin, among others, in @TIME Person of the Year reader poll: https://t.co/QFkhdeW5Uc
