President Trump took a moment during his tax reform speech to address health care with a rather curious claim.
“We have the votes on Graham-Cassidy,” he said, “but with the rules of reconciliation, we’re up against a deadline of Friday, two days.”
He said there’s one senator willing to vote yes on the bill––Thad Cochran––but who is currently recovering from a health issue.
As soon as he made that claim about having the votes, reporters immediately pointed out that they, in fact, do not:
