Trump Orders SEC to Look Into Idea Floated Three Years Ago… By Hillary Clinton

Maybe don’t lock her up, because then you can take her ideas.
President Donald Trump tweeted Friday that has asked the SEC to look into ceasing quarterly reporting and to transition to a six-month system.
In speaking with some of the world’s top business leaders I asked what it is that would make business (jobs) even better in the U.S. “Stop quarterly reporting & go to a six month system,” said one. That would allow greater flexibility & save money. I have asked the SEC to study!

Hmm, interesting idea – already proposed by none other than Trump’s arch-nemesis Hillary Clinton.
sounds familiar “Quarterly capitalism as developed over recent decades is neither legally required nor economically sound. It’s bad for business, bad for wages, and bad for our economy.” – @HillaryClinton 3 years ago https://t.co/cTYt9EZagk https://t.co/Cd9j3cWXrJ

“Now, there’s no single cause of quarterly capitalism, and therefore no single solution,” Clinton said in a speech at NYU in 2015. “But there are smart, specific reforms that can be made by both the private and the public sectors that would better align market incentives for long-term growth. Reforms that many forward thinking business leaders themselves have been calling for.”
“The Republicans running for President seem totally unconcerned about the problem of quarterly capitalism,” she added. “In fact, their policies would make it worse.”
