Trump Surrogate on Late-Night Tweets: ‘What Goes on Twitter Is Not the Campaign Message’

A Donald Trump surrogate yesterday made the attempt to argue that Trump’s late night tweets are irrelevant because “what goes on Twitter is not the campaign message.”

Yes, former congressman Jack Kingston told MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki on Friday that Trump is going on the campaign trail and talking about policy, and only keeping his sex tape comments to Twitter.

That, surprisingly, was not a sufficient answer for Kornacki, who asked why Trump is incapable of resisting the urge to say “inflammatory things.”

Kingston argued that Trump is just a political novice and does what most people do––”throw out some comments” on Twitter from time to time.

Kornacki countered that he’s never told anyone at 4 am to go look for a sex tape.
