Trump ‘Would Like the Law Expanded’ on Torture: The Terrorists Don’t Follow the Rules!

Donald Trump wants to see the current laws on torture, arguing that the terrorists don’t follow the rules.

In a preview of his Face the Nation sitdown, Trump told John Dickerson that “we have an enemy that doesn’t play by the laws” and so “I would like to strengthen the laws so that we can better compete.”

In other words, Trump said, he would “always abide by the rules,” but wants them expanded.

Dickerson confronted Trump about justifying waterboarding by pointing to the behavior of the terrorists. He asked isn’t that putting the U.S. on the same level as the “savages.”

Trump said, “We have to beat the savages,” and argued it’s difficult to do that when the terrorists don’t play by the rules.
