Twitter Buzzes Over Cynthia Nixon’s NY Gubernatorial Run: ‘Cuomo Gets His Miranda Warning’

Twitter is abuzz over the latest entertainment figure to enter the world of politics.
Earlier Monday, actress Cynthia Nixon — best known for playing Miranda Hobbes on Sex and the City — announced her bid to become Governor of New York. She will run as a Democrat, and take on the state’s incumbent Governor Andrew Cuomo in a primary later this year.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction from social media:
This is going to be interesting. Nixon is quite wonky so this won’t be the typical actor runs for office situation. https://t.co/byfhvCcDji

Well the rest of the country doesn’t want this at all.
Yes sir, it’s the United States v. Nixon https://t.co/1H5l3cyVvJ

The Dem statewide primaries in NY are heavily tilted to the NYC. Still, the Nixon ad feels very much like a mayoral race spot. Almost entirely shot in NYC, very Upper West Side.

Cynthia Nixon announcing for governor makes far more sense than about 95% of the stuff I've heard the past month.

"She was fed up with New York's education system and women being pushed to the periphery by a political apparatus that dismissed them as convenient votes with inconvenient opinions. And as I sat there, I wondered: was Cynthia Nixon playing Miranda or was Miranda there all along?" pic.twitter.com/0UTngTDnmx

“Cynthia Nixon, what is your position on the recent dissolution of the Cattrall-Parker Accord of 1998?”
— Ira Madison III (@ira) March 19, 2018
I support Cynthia Nixon.
She's a long time education activist who rides the subway every day, opposes the IDC, is fearless and strong, supports single payer, speaks out against big money in politics. She will be a great Governor of our amazing state. https://t.co/Fc1CvKzgyr

Looks like Cuomo is on Nixon’s Enemies List

Really hope that the progressive challenger to Andrew Cuomo taps former New York Giants defensive tackle Ray Agnew as a running mate
