Twitter Flips Out Over Trump’s Explosive Speech: ‘The. Worst. Timeline.’

President Trump‘s speech in Pennsylvania tonight had explosive remarks and heated rhetoric up the wazoo, so a lot of people have quite a few things to say in response.
Trump’s speech was all over the place, a mix of the president’s greatest hits along with his thoughts about giving drug dealers the death penalty, being president for life, and telling the crowd not to boo Kim Jong Un until after their negotiations.
Some of the other standout moments were the points where Trump talked about thrashing Oprah Winfrey in 2020, bashing the media again, and… doing an impression of a president acting presidential.
Online commentators took notice of all this, much of them seeming to agree that the speech was “lit” as the kids say:

I sure hope @nbcsnl is re-writing their cold-open after that @realDonaldTrump impression of a @POTUS

I have PTSD listening to "You Can't Always Get What You Want" after a Trump rally, even on TV. In person, in 2016, it felt so creepy I was sure he couldn't win. Even more: "Funeral for a Friend." Dear God…

The most dispiriting thing about this speech – aside from the fact that these are words coming from an actual sitting president – is that the audience has no idea what's true or false, and doesn't care.
But don't call them stupid.— Tom Nichols (@RadioFreeTom) March 11, 2018
Trump calls Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters "a very low-IQ individual."
He repeats: "She's a low-IQ individual."
Likely uncoincidentally, Waters is Black.

So Trump just:
– spoke about “African [sic] unemployment”
– called a high-ranking black woman in Congress a “low-IQ individual”
– treated a stat about white women as reflective of all women; and
– said he knows a billionaire black woman’s “weakness” pic.twitter.com/e1O8AnsQJk— Greg Greene (@ggreeneva) March 11, 2018

Between this and a “Pocahontas” crack I guess this is just a Dignified Evening of Casual Racism https://t.co/Fpwf9xu1mx

Trump basically admitting the American voters bought his performances to get him elected.
This guy is like a cult leader. This whole thing is cultish. It’s all dangerously dysfunctional.
This kind of crap is how democracies die & dictators rise.
Wake UP AMERICA!!!

It really isn’t a Trump campaign rally if the fire marshall doesn’t get a shout out
— Jeremy Diamond (@JDiamond1) March 11, 2018
Trump now mocking the idea of being presidential. "Much easier than doing what I have to do." Yeah, it's super difficult to snort meth and to make shit up.

this rally is so weird. trump is now impersonating what a normal president might be like.

The president of the United States is heaping praise on North Korea’s dictator and China’s “president for life,” but is attacking the free press and personally disparaging American journalists.
