Twitter Goes Nuts After House GOP Ends Russia Probe: History Won’t ‘Be Kind to Devin Nunes’

This afternoon, the Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee announced that they are done with interviews in the committee’s Russia probe and the majority have reached a conclusion. The GOP members’ report will state that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russians when it came to US election meddling. It will also diverge from the intelligence community’s consensus that Russian President Vladimir Putin preferred Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
A one-page summary of the upcoming report was released:

Folks on Twitter had a lot to say about the probe being shut down, with much of it concentrating on the partisan nature of the decision:
BIGGEST TAKEAWAY: The House Intelligence Committee report DISSENTS from the FBI/CIA/NSA assessment that Russia wanted to help @realDonaldTrump win.

Extraordinary that Devin Nunes is now going to try to overrule the entire US intelligence community on Russia's attack against our 2016 election https://t.co/FKcYsyRWap

Wow–For Devin Nunes to conclude that there was "no evidence of collusion" is as convincing as Scott Pruitt concluding that there is no evidence of climate change. https://t.co/QZc4KVyPO3

The real collusion here is between House Republicans and Trump in trying to cover up the Russian subversion that helped to get him elected. https://t.co/VBDQX1tYWW pic.twitter.com/uqqEo4Dt28

Can't find collusion if you don't look for it. pic.twitter.com/Yq5HdUT6Yo

Sure they can say, “see, no collusion,” for a few days. But the politicized process that drew conclusions that are contradicted by some of the evidence & failed to consider all of it, is going stain a lot of reputations when the truth outs. https://t.co/ue7GWnQIhb

And then there’s this take from former GOP Congressman Joe Walsh:
That's cute. But nobody should care what the House Intelligence Committee found. The Republican-led committee made clear from the start that they were more interested in protecting Trump than protecting America. https://t.co/3Bkl6Vn9UP
