TV personality Chelsea Handler expressed some political views via Twitter Sunday night that is not aging well with Twitter users.
Handler asked the question, “Wouldn’t it be nice 2 have laws here for people who think racism is funny?” In regards to two Chinese men being arrested in Berlin for making Nazi salutes.

Twitter came in to show Handler that her own statement could land her in jail. Earlier this year Handler said that she wouldn’t interview FLOTUS Melania Trump because “she barely speaks English,” before going on to say she does not respect her.
Handler also went on Today last year to talk about how little she knew about racism, believing that racists were just “dumb people from the South who aren’t educated.” Instead she found that they were “really educated, intellectual racists, which I find amazing.”
No, but it's nice we have the First Amendment.

Pease re-consider. Would you want to see Mel Brooks arrested?

No, it doesn't sound great in theory

Remember when you made fun of @FLOTUS because of her accent and heritage?
Should you be arrested? https://t.co/44HtbnLM27

Chelsea must want herself arrested for finding racist jokes funny pic.twitter.com/R8fLtrDzQI

So racist jokes are only funny when you make them? Everyone else should be arrested. pic.twitter.com/7nxLS5h1wV

We should ban people who think you are funny.

While none of the Twitter reactions said that racism is okay, almost everyone agreed that this isn’t a solution. Good thing Handler is just a comedian tweeting instead of actually in charge of policy changes. Or, as our Senior Editor Jon Levine said best, she should just stick to comedy.
