Trump, Manafort Mocked Following Bombshell Report on Alleged WikiLeaks Meetings: ‘NO COLLUSION!’
A bombshell Guardian report broke Tuesday alleging Paul Manafort met with WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange near the time he entered President Donald Trump‘s campaign, and Twitter has a lot to say.
Reactions to the news ranged from stunned to not so stunned, some appearing dumbfounded by claims that there was no collusion between Russia and Trump in his quest to win the 2016 election.
The Weekly Standard‘s Bill Kristol sarcastically wondered, “What campaign chair hasn’t held secret talks with Julian Assange in the Ecuadoran embassy in London?” while Hillary Clinton‘s former Director of Communications Jennifer Palmeri wrote, “Annoyed by all the ‘wow’ tweets about this story as if it’s surprising.”
It has been previously reported that the leaking of Democratic National Committee emails that occurred in the lead up to election day was the result of collaboration between WikiLeaks, which dumped the documents, and Russian intel officers, who stole them.
In light of Manafort’s alleged meeting, that link has got a lot of tweeters asking questions.

“NO COLLUSION!” https://t.co/DDOHI9ZMWx— Bill Kristol (@BillKristol) November 27, 2018
It’s not collusion unless you have video of Trump and Putin personally meeting and saying “Let’s collude!” https://t.co/B63U8UKf6v

Annoyed by all the “wow” tweets about this story as if it’s surprising. It’s not. It’s serious, & more evidence of collusion, but – if you were paying attention in real time to how strategically timed the Wikileaks were – this news is not surprising. https://t.co/YA8dvESNW6

So let me get this straight:
Manafort joins Trump campaign March 2016
Manafort secretly visits Wikileaks Assange in Ecuador, spring 2016
Trump elevates Manafort to Campaign Manager June 2016
In June and July 2016, Wikileaks releases Democratic emails
But…no collusion?

Reminder that when people talk about Russian interference in the 2016 election, the single biggest action was the hacking of DNC emails and strategically-timed leaks via Wikileaks.
This does not look good for Manafort or Trump. https://t.co/SZRFZrsLaN pic.twitter.com/Uz0yS1g3Vs

@BobSMueller would be great if you finally tweeted something. I suggest “stand by for news” or “tick, tock.”
