University Moves to Fire Truther Professor Who Allegedly Harrassed Sandy Hook Parents
Florida Atlantic University officials issued a recommendation Wednesday that they fire an associate professor who pushed conspiracy theories for years that the Sandy Hook Massacre never happened.
James Tracy, who teaches Culture of Conspiracy at the school, is a Sandy Hook truther who wrote blog posts and other materials suggesting that the carnage was staged or exaggerated by the government three years ago to generate fear and leverage for gun control.
Tracy has 10 days to appeal his termination, which seems to have been issued in response to an op-ed published last week by the Orlando Sun-Sentinel. The piece, written by the parents of 6-year-old victim Noah Pozner, accused Tracy of repeatedly taunting them and demanding proof of their son’s existence.
Tracy responded to the Pozners with a post on the “Sandy Hook Hoax” Facebook page, where he accused them of trying to get him fired and misinforming people for their own financial gain. Tracy pushed his book “Nobody Died At Sandy Hook” as an outline of his theories, and accused the Pozners of using a fake death certificate and supposedly unlicensed photographs for their own ends.
