Video Shows Michael Brown’s Mother Breaking Down After Indictment News

Video from the New York Times shows Lesley McSpadden, Michael Brown’s mother, breaking down after news broke that Ferguson officer Darren Wilson had not been indicted for the shooting death of her son.

Brown’s family had called for 4.5 minutes of silence after the decision — one minute for each hour Brown’s body had stayed in the street after the shooting. That silence never occurred: shortly after the announcement, Michael Brown’s stepfather started shouting “burn this place down,” and the crowd began to move.
