The Trump Administration is still dealing with the political fallout from their now-rescinded policy of breaking up migrant families at the southern border, but apparently, Jeff Sessions thinks that now’s as good a time as any to joke about the situation.
The attorney general was in Los Angeles last night for an event with the conservative-leaning Criminal Justice Legal Foundation. As he spoke before the crowd, Sessions snarked about critics in the media and the “lunatic fringe” Left who condemn Trump while living in secure communities.
These same people live in gated communities, many of them, and are featured at events where you have to have an ID to even come in and hear them speak,” Sessions said. “They like a little security around themselves. And if you try to scale their fence, believe me, they’ll be only too happy to have you arrested and separated from your children.”
Sessions’ quips were met with laughter and applause from the crowd. He continued to slam the “hypocrisy” of the “so-called elites,” along with politicians who fold under pressure from the media.
