WATCH LIVE: Trump Addresses Florida Shooting at WH Ceremony

President Donald Trump will preside over a ceremony in the White House East Room today, where he will present the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor Awards. The event is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.

The award represents the top honor a public safety officer can receive in America. It is typically earned by those who display outstanding acts of heroism in their work and go beyond the call of duty.

This year’s recipients include Lt. William Buchanan, a Tennessee officer who saved a man from a burning car wreck two years ago, as well as Doug Schroeder — the police chief who helped save lives during a workplace shooting at an Excel Industries building in Kansas.

It’s unknown whether Trump will take questions at this event, but if he does, there’s a plethora of topics he is likely to be asked about. The school shooting in Florida would be the leading subject, and Trump may be asked about his anti gun-control stance — as well as the White House’s previous announcement that he’s open to discussions on expanded background checks.

Other potential topics include; Trump’s recent Twitter slam on the FBI, Mitt Romney‘s senate run, and his comments pertaining to the latest news on the Russia investigations.
