WATCH: YouTube Celebrities Interview President Obama
The time has come for President Barack Obama to sit down for an interview with three of YouTube’s most popular content producers.
At 5 p.m. ET on January 22, the president will take questions from Bethany Mota, a California teenager who makes videos about fashion and make-up, GloZell Green, who calls herself the “Queen of YouTube,” and Hank Green (no relation), also known as the vlogbrother who did not write The Fault in Our Stars.
At least one member of the White House press corps is less than thrilled about Obama giving his first post-State of the Union interview to these YouTube stars. During last Thursday’s press conference, CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Josh Earnest, “I’m just curious, was ‘Charlie Bit My Finger’ or ‘David After Dentist’ not available?”
After admitting he had never seen those iconic YouTube clips, Earnest defended the move as no different than the Google Hangout events Obama has done in the past to reach a younger demographic.
