Watch Red Sox Manager John Farrell Fire Back at Heckling Fan: ‘Why Don’t You Shut Your Ass Up?’

A Red Sox manager getting heckled by a fan at Yankee Stadium isn’t exactly uncommon. Still, current Sox skipper John Farrell took the bait Thursday night, and decided to fire back.

In the video below, via Twitter user DailySportsGeek, watch Farrell turn around and respond after a fan questions why the manager benched a number of his regulars even though the club is still jockeying for playoff positioning.

“Why don’t you shut your ass up?” Farrell told the fan.

This will surely help the relationship between Yankees and Red Sox fans — which temporarily thawed on Thursday as Yankees fans gave multiple standing ovations to retiring Red Sox slugger David Ortiz.
