WATCH: Reporter Tries to Propose to Girlfriend in Plane, Throws Up
“I couldn’t hold it” is never something you want to hear someone say, but it’s least welcome when talking about a marriage proposal.
Sadly, that’s exactly what Darrell Hamilton Jr. said when telling ABC News how he proposed to Rheanna Lopez, his girlfriend of two years.
In the video above, you see him tap her shoulder to get her attention, hand over the ring, then double up and vomit, all while the two soar above what looks to be a beautiful landscape.
Hamilton, who is a journalist in California, said, “Rheanna just really likes outdoors and nature and I thought it’d be a cool idea to give her a nice view.” Lopez, it turns out, had been in a commercial plane only one other time.
He was looking for a sign he’d made and placed under the path the plane would take when he felt motion sickness creeping in, but luckily, Lopez didn’t mind his in-flight upchuck and said yes anyway.
Here’s the full quote, just because:
I couldn’t hold it much longer. I just tapped her on the shoulder. I didn’t even ask her. I just gave her the ring.
Congrats to the happy couple!
