Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing at the White House today to discuss the White House’s latest plans and administrative agenda. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. EST.
The briefing is likely to focus primarily on the recovery efforts in Texas following Hurricane Harvey. Many areas of the state are still ravaged by floods, and Sanders is expected to discuss ongoing rescue operations, storm-draining efforts, and the Trump Administration’s plan to rebuild from the devastation.
It is also possible Sanders will take questions on President Trump’s speech yesterday about tax cuts. Even though Trump talked about tax reform (and put pressure on Senator Claire McCaskill), there were critics who were not completely satisfied with the Wednesday address. Some felt that Trump’s proposed overhaul doesn’t go far enough, others thought there weren’t that many details in Trump’s speech, and still others just want Trump to focus on building the wall.
Other topics that might come up include the new developments from Robert Mueller‘s investigation, the latest provocations from North Korea, and whether border wall funding will have to make way for disaster relief in Texas.
