Watch Trump Joke and Banter While Congressional Leaders Fight Over Pens

During the middle of President Donald Trump’s signing of his first presidential orders surrounding his Cabinet appointees, we were treated to the spectacle of Congressional leaders fighting over the pens, bartering with each other over which ones they should receive.

With Trump surrounded by his family, Vice President Mike Pence and a number of Senate and House leaders, the newly inaugurated POTUS was using different pens for each order and then handing them over to individual lawmakers as keepsakes.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was given the pen that signed the order to make Ben Carson the Secretary of HUD, with him letting it be known that wasn’t all that thrilled. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi offered up her pen, Tom Price for HHS, in exchange.

And it kept going. At one point, Pelosi bantered with Trump over the pen signing the order of Elaine Chao as Secretary of Transportation, who is also the wife of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who obviously wanted that pen.

We saw more examples of Congressional leaders attempting to get specific pens. Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) excitedly expressed how much he wanted the pen signing the order for the new Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Watch the whole scene above.
