WATCH: U.S. Commandos Abduct Accused Al Qaeda Militant

 

Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai, an Al Qaeda militant with connections to a number of terrorist groups, was on his to his home from morning prayers in Tripoli, Libya, on October 5, 2013 when the unexpected occurred. Seconds after stopping his car in front of his house, two vans pulled up near his vehicle and erupted with American special forces agents. Al-Ruqai was thrown into a van and driven away.

The video of the capture, taken by a closed-circuit camera and provide to The Washington Post, shows al-Ruqai’s speedy capture and abduction. The militant was suspected of being involved in the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania.

al-Ruqai is currently in New York City across from the federal courthouse awaiting trial. After an October hearing, the suspected Al Qaeda member pled not guilty to terrorism charges.
